What reasons lead women to have abortions?

In our 2023 Crisis Pregnancy Report, we statistically analyzed data from tens of thousands of women who sought counseling from Profemina.

Biographical reasons, such as unsuitable timing or divergent life plans, are the most commonly shared causes of a crisis pregnancy, at 41.7 percent. Being overwhelmed is another prevalent factor, accounting for more than 30.5 percent of cases. Problems within the partnership rank third, making up 17.2 percent of the cited reasons.

Counseling allows a large percentage of women to decide in favor of their child.
